auto cancel order not working

I've set the Hikashop Orders Automatic Cancel Plugin to 3600 to test it out.
I assume this is in seconds, so it equals one hour.

After I place an order and 'forget' to pay, I expect the order to be cancelled after one hour. Instead nothing happens.

Am I forgetting something? Does it need a cron trigger?
