Login/Register page without Cart

I would like to have the Login/Registration page as a link on our website without having to have something in your cart for it to come up.

I saw this in another thread when a user mentioned it, and noticed you guys said it is not a priority but I believe it should be as it would solve so many issues with the Checkout process.

Firstly it is one of the only ways at the moment to "isolate" the Joomla registration/login which is very confusing to customers when it comes up.

We have recently changed our online shop to hikashop and the customers login details are not valid anymore.

By getting just a login page without the option to register people assume their login details work and we get a lot of complaints.

I would appreciate a solution from you on this issue.

Many thanks in advance

Hi,

I think that you should use the "connexion" Joomla module, then your customer will be able to register/login "without cart".

By doing a search in google and joomla, I wasnt able to find this module, but I think it might not be what I'm looking for.

Let me clarify:

I need a view with both login and registration forms side by side. At the moment hikashop only displays that view when you have something in your cart (image1) but I would like it to be like image2, so I can then link to that from a menu item called Login/Register or something like that.

Hope that makes sense.

Ok, Thanks for your reply.

Do you have a link for it? I haven't been able to find it online...

You can first create a menu item of the type "hikashop user registration form" via the joomla menu manager.
That will display the registration form of HikaShop on the main area of your template.
Then, in the module manager of joomla, enable the login module ( it's called 'connexion' in french, that's why mohamed said that ;) ) and assign it to the menu that you just created in a position you want.
That will allow you to achieve a similar result to the login/registration of the checkout.
