Running into several problems with site search,

Here are the problems the site childrenstoystoystoys.com is havin


1:
When you add a coupon to the shopping cart at checkout, it's not showing up in the customers invoice they receive via email once the order is placed. I know I will get lots of calls because of this. I wouldn't even know they used a coupon unless I completely scroll through the back end looking over the order and actually find they used a coupon within the order information which can easily be overlooked. I then would have to add the coupon and coupon description to their invoice which will become a hassle. I think this cannot be right. This may be a question for Nicolas.


2.
If you click on Toy Categories on either the Top or Side the add to cart buttons do not appear unless you click on the item. This needs to be fixed like the way you have all the other categories so that if a customer happens to click on the Toy Categories link then they choose a character, the add to cart buttos will appear without having to click on each item.

3.
When you use the search button, and find the item you are looking for it pops up a completely separate window of my website. When you use the search and click on an item it should just bring you directly to that item without a new window of the website poping up. I would rather it not open up a new window. I've never seen a search button within a site do that so there may be a module that needs to be checked or this may be a question for Nicolas.

Hi,

1. I've never heard of such problem. As far as I know, the coupon amount is always displayed in invoices in HikaShop.
Could you do a screenshot of the invoice ?

2. You just need to turn on the "show add to cart button" option on your products listings. Check each products listing menu/module options via the menus Display->Content menus/modules.

3. You should try to toggle the "New page" option of the hikashop search plugin :)

It's working fine for the products results. No new window opens.
It does it only for categories results. I suppose that you didn't turn off the "new page" option of the category search plugin.

You need to enter the id of a category listing menu in the itemid option of the category search plugin.

It's the id of a category listing menu item:

Here is a copy of a customer invoice and the coupon is not on it. Also I need to know how to get rid of the line that says "Your order will be processed as soon as we receive your payment" if someone uses a paypal we have already received their payment.

We don't have that problem on our end.

Can you give a link to your shop and the code of a coupon so that we can try it ?
Also, did you change anything in the email ?

As I can see on the invoice, the coupon is not applied, the product price + shipping fee = total price.
Does the customer entered the good one coupon ?

Can you tell me in wich zone can be used the coupons ?

For the 2 coupons, I have restricted them to the following:

1st Coupon(FREEGREENWILSON) is good for all Chuggington products only - customer must spend $24.99 or more in order for coupon to work (I tested it out and it does work when applied to cart for only chuggington but coupon just does not show it was used in invoice to customer)- coupon is good for all United States zones. I would like for it to also be valid for international as well, but wasn't sure how to do that.

2nd Coupon (FREEHAT&GREENWILSON) - is good for all Chuggington products only - customer must spend $49.99 or more in order for coupon to work (I tested it out and it does work when applied to cart for only chuggington but coupon just does not show it was used in invoice to customer)- coupon is good for all United States zones. When I try you coupons, they are added with success, but the coupon value is $0.
When the coupons have a value set on 0, they are not added in the invoice, because they are detected as null.

Try with coupons having a value > 0.

Thank you. However when I add a value greater than $0.00 ($0.01)it does show up that a coupon was used with a discount of $.01, but it still does not show what the coupon is for. I don't want to give the customer a discount and a free item, I just want to give the customer an item for free when they spend a certain dollar amount.

I want to be able to have the customer add the coupon, and the invoice reflect it's for a FREEGREENWILSON with a $0.00 dollar amount so that I know which coupon they used. Also when the customer receives the invoice via email it shows on their paid invoice that they used a coupon and the description of the coupon used, and a dollar amount of $0.00 cause it's free. If the coupon doesn't state what the customer is receiving, I will get lots of calls.

So what I'm trying to do is give a product to a customer for FREE when they spend a certain dollar amount at the store. Is there a way of doing this so that on the customer invoice it will say FREEGREENWILSON with a dollar amount of $0.00 since it is free? Can a coupon do this, or is there a different method I need to do?

Hi,

As Xavier said, that's because the coupon value is 0.
In any case, the coupon code is never displayed on the invoice. Only the coupon price is displayed.
So you will have to edit the views/emails where you want to display the coupon code and add it.
You're talking about the invoice they receive by email. Are you talking about the email summary, or the PDF invoice which is attached to the confirmation email ?
Is that the only place where you want to add the coupon code ?

I'm not sure if I explained myself correctly regarding how I want the coupon to work previously, so I will try to explain myself again. I do know that the coupon will list a discount dollar amount in the shopping cart if I list a value greater than zero, but that's not what I'm trying to do with the coupon. If a customer spends $24.99 of chuggington toys, I want them to use a coupon to receive a green wilson train for free. If I list a dollar amount value for the coupon all it's doing is giving a discount to the order being placed, and I don't want that. I want to give an item for free and I want the coupon to be able to do that if possible. I also want the coupon to list what it's for on the invoice that is emailed to the customer automatically when they place the order. I also want the coupon to display a description in the cart once the coupon is applied to the cart (this way the customer knows what they are getting as it's listed clearly in the cart & on their invoice they receive). So for example the coupon description in the cart once it's applied will say FREE GREEN WILSON and the dollar amount applied is $0.00. So when I go to the shops back end to view the order, it will clearly show in the invoice that the customer is to receive a free green wilson. I listed an example of how the coupon should look in the cart below, hopefully this is possible.

Is it possible that the coupon is able to do this, or is there another method to use so that a customer can receive a free item when spending a certain dollar amount at my store?Thank you for your time.

Hi SpectacularToys,

Actually HikaShop don't permit this kind of use, what you can do is create a coupon which can be applied only on the product which can be free.
Only ask to your customer to add the product in their carts and in the coupon configuration page, allow "Auto load in cart", by this way, if the user add the product the coupon is automatically applied on.
And then the product is free. But you will not see the "Coupon FREEGREENWILSON $0.00 1 $0.00 " in your order.

PS: to display the "auto load in cart" option, edit the view "discount / form_restriction" in the backend.

I'll figure something out with my free items issue. Hopefully in the future this cart will accomodate this type of coupon feature to make it much easier for us to use in the cart.
