On forehand I'm not familiar on crons task, but i would like to ask a question about this.
Could this task do a stock check and show me all parentproducts that have 0-stock?

Because most of my product just will be delivered once and when they are out-of-stock they should be unpublished or removed

thanks in advance

You don't need to cron to see all the products without a stock.
Just go to your products listing on the backend, sort by quantity and change the filter on the right to display "all sub elements" and voilà.

But if you want to be notified when a product goes out of stock, there is the out of stock notification plugin which you can publish and configure and which indeed needs the cron system to be configured.

Hello Nicolas,
Thanks for your answer.
The first option gives certainly the information.
But it is still a lot of checken. I will play around with it and see if it is convenient enough

There still another issue I'm struggling with
When I'm importing a product with child items I give the parent product the smallest size available in the child products.
But when this child product has been sold out. The productpage says "not on stock". Aldo You can select the other product-sizes who are available.
When I set the parent product to the another size in de back-end the message is gone.
But that I don't want to do of course.
A Lot of customers are getting confused.

Can you tell me what to do how to solve this

Hi,

That's normal actually. the system displays stock of the current variant. That's the default one.

If you don't want that, then you should remove the message displaying the stock. You can do that by overriding the stock messages with a translation override:

Hello Nicolas,
Still a questionmark on this.
When my default product size has been sold out and there is only one product of another size at stock it is not possible to select or add this to your cart.
The thing I need to do is change the default size to the size of the last available product.

Can you find a way to avoid this.
Because I now need to check if one of my products is on that stage and then change it by hand.

I don't see an easy way to do that.

I could propose that you change the "characteristic display method" of the configuration to "table" and that you have always two characteristics in your products (if you have only one characteristic, you can add a fake one with only one value to your products). That way, I think that it will be more clear to your users that they need to select a variant.
I can also propose you to configure the "out of stock" notification plugin (it also need the cron to be configured in the configuration) so that you can be notified automatically when a product/variant is out of stock.

Hi Nicolas,
Thank you Nicolas.
What I have done is this. I gave the parent product a size 1 with no stock. The child products have there own size and there own stock.
I believe this is what you ment?
When this works I need to find a way to get the other parent products right.

No that's not what I meant.
I meant that you should have two characteristics. The one that your already have and a second one with only one value.
Then, with the option "characteristic display method" of the configuration set to "table", the display of the characteristic selection will change on the product page and it should be more clear for your users.

Yes Your right. I already found out the method didn't work.
What I did is create a characteristic Maat_1. I gave it value 1.
And than I added the characteristic to a product.
But when I save the product it has created all available sizes from table "maat" to the product.
see the link.

www.dodowear.nl/productgroep/Product/113...ated_product-1139480
And when I set it to table it gives me back all radiobuttons of all sizes from table "Maat"

Did I missed something?
What I used to do in Virtuemart is leave the parent size/maat empty. But that is not the way you have set it up I think?

If you set the table display, you will indeed have one radio per variant. But when a variant has no quantity, you will directly see a cross instead of a radio button for that variant.

Hello Nicolas,
I would probably better to give this topic another name.

As my shop has getting more succes on sales. Which I'm very happy with.
I'm getting more issues on the out-of-stock products.
In which I desciped earlier on.
As the smallest size is sold out (this is the size that the parentproduct also carries) people cannot select the other product correctly.
And when customers have added the products to their wishlist (for instance size 128) and the want to put this into their basket it gives the smallest size (so another size, the one of the parent product.

Earlier on you gave a work around, but I sincerely hope you have a solution on the next up date. Because I'm missing sales now

I still don't understand why the table display is not an ok solution for you ?

Regarding the fact that the product add to cart from the wishlist doesn't work properly when the variant in the wishlist is out of stock, I've asked Xavier to look at it today in order to try to reproduce the problem on our end and fix the issue.

Hi Nicolas,
I'm Sorry but I don't get this part done properly. I'm getting all the sizes displayed.

"
If you set the table display, you will indeed have one radio per variant. But when a variant has no quantity, you will directly see a cross instead of a radio button for that variant
"

And after that when it's working. How do I get all products easily done (3.000 pc).

Hi,

When I add a main product in my wishlist, and then I add it to my basket, I have the good product in my basket, with the good size.
So the problem seems to be corrected, it will be on the next release of HikaShop.

Hi Xavier,
Busy period, so I didn't find time to answer on you latest reply.
The reason I started the topic was the issue on working on product with different sizes.
When I'm doing an import on a product with parent and child product I set the parent on a default size. Which is the smallest (size) in the line.
As we work with seasonal collections it occurs that the smallest size has been sold out.
If that's the case then the customer can't select the size which is directly visible (*1 - You first need to select another size to get in to the first size)or when it is the latest product you cannot add it the basket anyway (*2).
The way to overcome this for now is to set the default size to the smallest avaible size. But this cost a lot of maintaining.

(*1) www.dodowear.nl/new-born-peuter/jongens/...5-lief-baseball-vest
(*2) www.dodowear.nl/jongens/blue-seven-jonge...seven-zwemshort-aqua

Nicolas descriped a work-around for this. As written earlier in this topic.
But when I do this the product get's all kind of sizes. (see the added file)
And then the radio button is confusing

So what I hope is that you have a simple solution to solve this. And perhaps within the next update.

Hi,

I don't understand your sentence "But when I do this the product get's all kind of sizes. (see the added file)"

My proposition is to change the display of the characteristics on the front end. You're screenshot is a screenshot of the variants of a product in the back end. I don't see the link ?
And I don't understand what you mean by "all kind of sizes" ?
