Cart order total in header

Hello,

I have successfully found out how to add a small cart total in the header of my template (cart module options in Joomla). The minimal cart displays perfectly when I add products from the online shop (Img1), but the cart's format has a problem when I add products from an article (Img2). Interestingly when I refresh the page after adding products from an article, the cart format retruns to what it should be in 'Img1'.

This goes back to the same cart problem I highlighted last week, which might be fixed with the next imminent release of Hikashop :) I thought this might help you in any case find the bug (if you have not already)!

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards

Hi Xavier,

I have the latest version installed but it has not fixed the cart issue which I described in this post. Can I please ask you to look into this?
I will send you a URL via private message for you to look at.

Kind regards

Hi boopoo,

The problem come from your cart display.
If you enable your cart on the hikashop listing/show views the mini cart will work.

Try yo enable the cart on all the pages or on the hikashop pages.

Hi Xavier,

I have enabled the Hikashop cart module on all the pages except the homepage.
However, still when I add to cart from an article, I get the large mini cart in the header, rather than the minimal 'Cart total' in the header as I would like it. Thoughts?

Kind regards

Hi boopoo,

I tried one hikashop page, and the cart is not present in that page.
Are you sure that you enabled it on the hikashop pages ?

Hi Xavier,

Please can you remove that link from the forum. The site is not live yet and I do not want any links to the site. Thank you!

I am not sure how you came to that page URL you gave me? That has not come from you accessing it through a menu. Surely the only way to get to the shop is via the menu?

That page does not have a cart as it is not linked to a menu.... all pages linked to via the menu has the cart installed. Please go to the link I sent you via Private Message. There you can see the issue I am talking about if you add an item to the cart.

Thanks in advance for your time

Oups, sorry for the url.

I arrived on these URL by clicking on a product in the bad display cart.
Maybe you should have to add theses pages in a hidden menu, and display the cart on these menu pages.

We will correct this problem of cart displaying, but it could take some times.

Hi Xavier,

The problem is that product page you showed me is a duplication. I do not want to add this product page to a menu. The issue is the cart which is displayed when you add a product from an article (it is not the right cart and comes from a bug).

I know you guys are busy, but the problem is I cannot launch the site until this issue is fixed. Would you mind checking if you can move this bug fix further up the ladder? I would be very grateful. Once that is fixed I can go ahead and purchase hikashop (I require the extra options).

Kind regards

I have reproduce your problem on my end, and it's due to the fact that the cart wasn't displayed on a HikaShop product page.
If I add the cart on one HikaShop menu, it works fine.

So that's why I ask you to create a Hidden Menu (the menu will not be displayed on your website), in this menu add a products listing, by this way the mini cart will work fine.
And the menu is not displayed on your website, you will not see any changes, instead of a working mini cart.

Xavier,

Many thanks for being so proactive.
By having a hidden menu linking to the the product listings, will I not have duplicate product listing problems?
Your thoughts appreciated.

Hi Xavier,

One more point to add to this. You said that I do not have the cart displayed on a Hikashop product page.
Actually in my top menu is the menu title 'Online Shop'. This is Hikashop (Menu item type: Hikashop Category listing). So all my product listings are navigated to through my main menu (Hikashop Category Listing > Products. The Hikashop cart is active on the 'Online Shop' main menu item and therefore appears on all those product pages.

I'm confused with what you said. Why do I need a hidden menu when I have a link to the Hikashop Category listing in my main menu ('Online Shop')? Your help would be appreciated. Apologies for any confusion!

Hi Xavier,

I am going to save you some work. You can ignore this post as I have decided that I will not use the 'add to cart' feature from articles. I cant seem to work around this issue and also W3C throws some errors.

Many thanks. I will go for the easy option and just make people go through the online shop.
