It's not possible that the client didn't change anything.

As you can see, you have a number of items per page/slide of 20 and a number of columns of 8.
So it's logical that you get 3 lines and not 2.
Change the number of columns to 10 and it should display the products on two lines.

The settings are quite logical.
If you want one row, you can for example set the number of items per slide to 8 if you have a number of columns of 8.
Then, have a number of items bigger than 8. 20 will do fine.

The system will then slide through the list of these 20 items and display them 8 per slide with 8 columns, so one row of 8 products.

Normal. That's not what I set.
I said: set the number of items per slide to 8 if you have a number of columns of 8.
Then, have a number of items bigger than 8. 20 will do fine.

You did:
Columns are set to 8 number of items set to 8 products per slide are set to 20

You should have done:
Columns are set to 8 number of items set to 20 products per slide are set to 8

The problem comes form your template's CSS.
Remove the CSS:
.art-blockcontent-body ul li {
line-height: 125%;
color: #121517;
margin: 5px 0 0 10px;
padding: 0 0 0 13px;
background-image: url('../images/blockcontentbullets.png');
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: top left;
}

in the file /templates/childrenstoystoystoys/css/template.css and it will now display fine.
