Hi,

I'm new to Hikashop and am having trouble with the order that my products display on the products page. I think I'm missing something simple...
You can see the product page here: moreoftheking.com/index.php?option=com_h...out=listing&Itemid=8

I just need each set/color of studies together and I have one out of place.

Thanks so much,
Amanda

Hi,

If you go on your product listing, that you select the category where your products are and that you set the filter on the right to direct sub elements, you should see an ordering column where you will be able to change the order of your products.

What do you mean ?
You couldn't order your products ? Or the ordering wasn't saved ? Or the ordering was saved but is not used on the front end listing ?
If it's the last case, please make sure that in your menu/module display your products, the ordering column is "ordering". It's the default ordering, but if you change it, then the ordering of products won't be taken into account when listing the products on the corresponding products listing.

HI,
I was talking abous the screen display and the way the products show on the screen.
I put back the default parameter to orderindg instead to product_id.
I didn't notice any change, what else could it be ?

The default options in the configuration of HikaShop are only used for new menus and modules.
You can either create a new menu/module now that you change the config, or edit your menu/module's options via the menus Display->Content modules and Display->Content menus where you will find the same ordering option that you will have to change.

Hi Nicolas,

I'm still having trouble with my product order.

I've updated the order in the ordering colum on the products listing and I've updated the setting on the menu/module display to "ordering".

I must be missing something...

Thanks for you help,
Amanda

In your menu options, you select the parent category as "Product category" and then selected "all sub elements" in the option "Sub elements filter". That means that hikashop will display all your products regardless of their category. However, the ordering of products is done on a per category basis. So it's normal that you get strange results. Also, you set the option "random items" to on in your menu options. You should turn it off.

Why did you create categories if you're finally displaying all your products as one category ? In that case, you should have only category with all your products in it and handle the ordering of all the products in that category.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

You're right I shouldn't have added categories if I wasn't going to use them. I've taken them out, ordered within the products listing and the problem was fixed.

The only other question I have now is is it possible to remove the following:
Display #
Results 1 - 15 of 15
on the order page?

Thanks again!
Amanda

You can find the information about tweaking the pagination on that page:

Hi,

I know this is an old topic, and i've read other topics about this, tried many ways to do this but without success.

I wanted a drop box, on the front page of a product listing menu, with some possible ordering fields like 'Product Name', 'Price', 'Date', etc, and an option to choose the ordering direction like "Ascending", "Descending", for the user to order the listing as they like.

But i can't seem to find a way to do this in HikaShop. I thought it was by choosing the ordering field in the menu options to 'ordering', but it doesn't work..

Can you help me with this question please.

Thanks.

Hi,

It can be done using filters.
You can try this feature in the demo website.

Wow..

Thanks for the reply. I feel a bit "stupid", because it was so obvious..

But i hadn't really looked at the filters feature yet, and its possibilities..

Thank you very much :)
