Ok i have followed the tutorial and i have been through the mill and a lot of money with other shopping cart solutions and i LOVE Hika, I will buy and donate without so much as a blink.. But i cant get the menu to display the contents of a category. I have tried finding answers on the forum i figured its probably a knack and a common pitfall for noobs like me. But it just wont play ball.

I can PM Login details if required, But i must know how to do it...

Red Cart took my penny's and VMart Took my spare time for 2 weeks and i am 2 moments away from a mental breakdown.

I feel like tweek on southpark

I don't know the characters of southpark but it's quite simple to do. Just go in the 'Hikashop default menus' area of the menu manager of joomla, edit the 'categories listing' menu and change its "Menu Location" to the menu you're using on your website and that's it. It will add a new menu item on your website menu linking to the categories and then products of HikaShop.

I have categories and menu items but i can only get it to link to a One Item Page called (Categories) How do i adjust which are displayed for when i follow the tutorial i get "

You just saved a category listing menu without setting an associated module for it.
If you want to display a product listing below the category listing, you need to add an associated product listing module.
You can do so automatically by clicking here
Successfully Saved
"

I get that message every time i save the item ( I have clicked the click here a few times but it doesnt change anything. ( Every time i change the Categries selection it says 17 items then i save and re enter the menu item and it changes back to "2 Categories"

You don't need to do that as there is already a menu by default for that in HikaShop, as I already explained.

Nevertheless, you can just click on the select button of the associated modules option of your menu and enable a products listing module and that will make your menu work.

Ok i understand what you are saying and i have seen this work on youtube video's and etc but my point is in this instance it is not working.

I have managed to get my Root Category to showup using the Hika Catagory view menu item, But when i try to adjust it it reverts back and spits out

"2 Category"

Im going to backup and do a joomla re-install as im guessing that the remnents of all the other shopping carts are causing issues.

I'm talking about the "associated modules" option of your menu, not the "associated category" option which is something else.

Let us know how the reinstall goes.

On the associated modules i select published and click OK? I have tried this with many of the

Associated products listing for category listing menu *

and nothing changes. The only way to see products through menu on my site seems to be to use the Category view (which would be fine but it keeps reseting and wont let me select a sub category.

For Simplicity i have just installed the component on one of my other joomla sites and it worked as expected. So it must just be the damage done by the other cart products i have had installed. Thanks for your time nicolas.
