Problems with Hikashop Filter

Hi,

I'm having some troubles with my Hikashop filter module (I'm sure I'm doing something wrong).
I'm trying to use the filter module as a basic product search tool (enter in text, get the matching results)

All of my products are contained in additional categories under the generic "product category" category

I've attached images with my settings.

For the search module - I've assigned "2" under the menu options since it reflects the category of "products category" - is this the correct way?
In the filter module - I've selected a few fields (product name, product description, keywords). Does the search have to match an item in all these fields or will it return a result if the search matches just one field - i.e. product name?

Is the search tool case sensitive as well? If it is - is there an easy way to make it ignore case?

Thanks for your time

Hi there,

I think your problem come from the "menu" option since you assigned a category id instead of a menu id to this option :)
Try with nothing or the id of menu (for example a menu containing all your products) and it should works.

About your question, search isn't case sensitive and give result every time it find something relevant either in the name, description or whatever.
I hope it helped you!

Hi,

That definitely did the job - I was right about the fact I did something wrong :)

Thanks for the clarification on the case sensitivity / relevant search!

I'm guessing there isn't any way to for the filter tool to cater for typo's? It would be great if the tool could bring up "closely matched" text searches.

Thanks for the assistance anyway - appreciate the support you all give.

Glad I helped you :)

About the closely matched option it's definitely not possible in Hikashop and I don't think you'll found something since it's really difficult to realize.
Who except google can propose that kind of thing  ?
