Hi,
We have a new line of products where the customer selects which product they want from a drop down list.
The general item is described as a product.
The product then has an Option which in turn looks at variants.
This produces a drop down list of available model numbers and their prices. See image Variant Order Details_1.png
This works fine, including how the order is set out in the cart at the checkout. See image Variant Order Details_2.png. It appears that just one product (of a particular model number) has been ordered, which is what is intended in this case.
In the back end, the order is described as per image Variant Order Details_3.png
Now it starts to get a little confusing because it appears that there are two products which have been ordered, not one. All is still OK at this point because it is just in the back end, so we know it is actually just one product that has been ordered, not two.
However, looking at the order confirmation e-mail which is sent to the customer it would appear again that two line items/products have been ordered. One line item is zero cost (because the main product is not priced). The other line item is priced as per the particular model (variant). See image Variant Order Details_4.png
This is confusing for the customer and, if possible, I would like to change it so that the order confirmation is basically the same as the details set out in the cart.
I hope you can help.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
PhilP
