Search function and user registration/access

I am currently working on a site with the 'Essentials' version of HikaShop 1.60 in Joomla 2.5.7. Can you please point me to the documentation for the recommended set up for the Hika user registration/login function. I have set up registration through the Hika shopping cart workflow, but when I try to log in via the Joomla login, the site disappears and I get the following error message:
"SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.
(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site."

I have set the Hika log in pane to "display: none;" because there is no point in having two logins appearing on the same time page and I thought that the two systems were merged or at least compatible. I'm a bit disappointed too that, having styled the 'Create an account' input page, I now have to style again the identical page for the Hika version - the text and customised labels carry over, but not the styles!?

Also could you please point me towards the documentation for the Hika search plug in. I have it set up and functioning, but I want to give the module view a proper layout instead of the jumble of labels and buttons/check boxes I have at the moment. I can't find a Display View, so is this something I have to do via a Joomla interface?

On the same subject, most clients expect to see the product search result displayed as a category-style list of products, a compiled product listing view with images, price etc. rather than the series of text links which it currently produces - is that possible?

Finally, I have a menu item which opens a page displaying all the categories on the site. But this has been generated from the back-end category listing and so, when any category displayed is clicked on, the result is simply a text list of the categories, not the product list display of the category menu item clicked on. When clicking on an active category listing display, most people expect to be taken to the content of that category, not a text version of the same list. How can I correct this?

Many thanks.

Hi,

1. I think that your error is coming from the face that your SSL certificate is not configured properly on your server. Please check that with your hosting company. That is not related to HikaShop.

3. Here is a tutoriel about filters

Hope this will help you.

Hi,

1. If you turn off the "force SSL on checkout" option of the configuration that will avoid that problem which comes from the fact that the SSL is not configured properly on your website.

2. The styles should carry over. But it actually depends on how your styled them. You might have to adapt the class names of your CSS definitions.

3. The Display->Views menu is in HikaShop:

4. If you use the HikaShop filtering system as Mohamed recommended instead of the joomla search page, you will be able to get a normal products listing result page instead of the result page of the joomla search system.

5. If you use the latest version of HikaShop, there is already a categories listing menu pre created by HikaShop. Just publish it and it will work.
Otherwise, you can follow that tutorial:
www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...html#categories_menu
Not knowing how you configured your menu/its attached module(s), we can say precisely what could be your problem.
If you can't figure it out, please give some screenshots.
