We need a report on how many units we've sold over the past year through our ecommerce site. Specicially we need a break down of how many of each unit we've sold in the past 12 months. I've been told there is a reports tool available but haven't been able to find it in Hikashop. I've seen this page:

www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...-report-listing.html

But it doesn't tell you how to download the reporting tool or where to find it. Can anyone help?

Hi kizzinkwocha,

In HikaShop > Orders > Reports, click on the report to edit, then in the edition view you can find the "Export" button in the toolbar.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. When I go into Orders, all I have are:
System
Products
Customers
Sales
Affiliates
Display
Help

I don't seem to have a button for 'Reports'. Any ideas?

Hi,

The reports functionality is able in the commercial versions of HikaShop.

We have the business version. Is that the same as the commercial version? If it is, I don't see any options for reports.

Then you must have an old version of HikaShop as it was added recently. You would have to update.

Can you tell us how we can update? We spent a lot of time customising our shopping cart. Will we have to do everything again if we update to a newer version?

It depends on how you customized HikaShop. If you did it via the interface, you should not loose anything. I still recommend you to do a backup before updating.

Updating in itself is really simple. Just download the install package and install it via the installer of joomla.

Thanks for getting back to me. Two quick questions: we customised items like postage prices to different countries depending on the number of units purchased. Are we likely to lose customisations like that? Also, is there a way of backing up Hikashop through the shopping cart or do you mean doing a backup of the whole site?

No you won't loose that.
I'm talking about code customization.

And yes, I'm talking about a full website backup.

We haven't made any customisation to the code but we have spent a long time setting up prices, postage to different countries etc. If you're sure we won't have to do any of that again, then we'll go ahead and do an update.

It worked as you said. Thankyou! One final question: we need to view the sales of a particular product over the year. Is there any way of keying in the title of one product and seeing how many units we have sold?

Hi,

It depend of the way you want to display the sales of this product.
Usually you just have to use the "product" field to filter the display on the base of the product you want to monitor.
Try the display type "line", on the period "this year", grouped by "month" with the type "sales" and witht he product you want to monitor added in the product filter field.

If you just want an amount, try the display type table or listing and take a look at the documentation for more tips ;)

Hi,

Afraid I don't understand your instructions. When I click on 'products' and in 'filter' I type in the name of the product, the product comes up but there is no option for checking how many units have been sold.

When I click on 'Display' the only options available are view, content munus, content modules, custom fields, filters.

Can anyone give me an easy to follow step by step guide (for example: click on this button, select this option, etc) for checking the sales of a product? I'm sure the sales report function can do this, but it is not obvious. I've tried Googling the problem but can't find any answers.

You should first look at the documentation and tell me what kind of report you want to use.
I mean do you want some graph or just the informations in a table?
