Change display options of product listing pages

Hi

I have about 6 product listing pages on my just-about-to-launch site. All of them list exactly two subcategories of products. I would like to eliminate the superfluous notifications (x2) "Display #" and the drop-down to select whether to display 2,5,10...all. There are just two so this is overkill. (Screenshot attached)

I imagine I will need to modify the PHP to do this.

I can follow instructions competently but have no instinct for PHP so I don't know what to look for.

Can someone give me instructions for PHP dummies?

Just stumbled upon the quick way to solve my problem (what I needed to do was much simpler than what didero needed to do).

HS > System > Configuration > Display > General Display Options > Pagination

Set to "No" and done.
