CSV upload for translations: Which columns?

I've seen that uploading a CSV file of a whole shop together with two language translations can be problematic. So I am planning on uploading translations one language at a time. This will be helpful as I will have more language translations of this site in the future.

My question is, what columns should I upload in a translation file?

For instance, would this work: product_name, product_name|en-GB, product_description, product_description|en_GB, product_page_title, product_page_title|en-GB, categories, categories|en-GB ?

Would I need to include columns like product_ID, product_parent_ID, product_code so that these texts get attached to the right product, category or variant in the database?

I'm never quite certain which columns I need to include in an upload and which (if any) I can leave out safely. Most of my partial uploads (only a few columns or products) have caused me as many problems as they've solved.

OK, this is good to know.

So for all CSV imports, I will leave out the rows of the CSV export file for what I call the "mother row" that only has the text "product category" and the row for each category.

I will include only the rows for the products and variants.

These will be in the format:

product_code; [productorvariant_info]; productorvariant_info]|xx-XX

(xx-XX = language code)
