Hi,

I read few posts on the topic and before to do via Akeeba or AcyMailing (as i have both). I would like to be sure i have made the right decision.

i have several virtual products in my store (business cards, flyers, brochures, softwares...).
Some are free to download, others not.

My marketing strategy for paid products is to propose 2 types of subscriptions:
a) for new buyers: 1 or 2 years subscriptions
b) for members who have still a valid subscription: to extend by 1 or 2 years their current subscription with special discount.

Now starts the real game :)

if i understood well documentation and posts, i should:
1. create user group, let say "premium members" that will hold all paying members. Free downloads don't need any user group.
2. create subscription levels as following:
2.a) 1 year subscription
2.b) 2 years subscription
2.c) 1 year subscription for existing members (with discount)
2.d) 2 years subscription for existing members (with discount)
3. for each product not free to download, to allocate a subscription level

and now questions:
Q1.1: how can i know how many times a free virtual products has been downloaded ?
Q1.2: is there any report available or that i can generate to check each free downloaded products and how many times they have been downloaded ?

Q2.1: how to attach correct subscription level to people ? i mean is it possible to check first if user has a valid subscription and to propose him to extend it to point 2.c or 2.d ? how does it work ?

Q3.1: is it possible for the same product to attach several different subscription ? for example, a product could have all 4 subscriptions as written in point 2 above. The correct subscription possibilities (2.a and 2.b for new members/buyer, and only 2.c and 2.d for existing members). How is performed the link among subscriptions and product ?

thx

Hi,

Q1.1: You can see how many time a free product has been downloaded in the product edition page. Under the file part, you have the Downloads displayed in the table.
Q1.2: There is no reports for the free downloaded products.
Q2.1: To attach the correct subscription I think that the easiest way is to change the user group after purchase a product, and then apply a discount on the product if the user group is the group ...
Then when the customer will buy the same product with the discount, the subscription will be added to the old one.
To have 2 different period (1Y and 2Y) I think that you can do that with the HikaShop options.
Q3.1: A product can have many subscriptions, the subscriptions are added on the product. I a subscription is created, and the product is bought again, so the subscription is added to the old one.
For example, if the first susbcription is 1 year, and the second 2 years, the total subscriptions are for 3 years.
