Akeeba Subscription

I just want to be clear on the Akeeba Subscription and Hikashop integration. I setup the Akeeba subscription levels for one product with two subscription levels ($150 & $460). I then created a menu with Akeeba for the subscription levels. When a person clicks on the subscribe button, it takes them to the Akeeba registration and payment page. I thought that with the Hikashop integration, that Hikashop would be used for the payment processing. Is this not the case? I am assuming it is no because I could not find the documentation. I just want to confirm.

In any case, I went back and created a product in Hikashop with variants for the $150 and $460 option. Is this the way to integrate both of them? Thanks!

Hi,

To use the subscriptions with HikaShop, you just have to create subscription levels in Akeeba, then install the plugin, you can find it here with some documentation:
www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...a-subscriptions.html

Then in the product edition page, select the level of the subscription to use on the product.

Okay, I read that documentation but I was still confused on how it applies to me. Maybe I should just tell you what I desire. I want to be able to have subscriptions to products and I want to be able to have my customers pay in installments. For instance, for a lifetime subscription of $450, I want them to be able to pay in 3 installment payments, billed on a monthly basis. After they have paid the balance in full, then they continue with the lifetime subscription. It is unclear how to do this with your instructions. I do not want them to pay 3 payments of $450, I want them to make three $150 payments. I also want the subscription to continue after all the installments are paid. Do you have any suggestions on how I can do this? Thanks!

Hi,

What you need is the payment in three times, no really a recurring payment.
Actually with HikaShop you can have a payment for a subscription, have recurring payments, but not 3 times payment.

I don't really understand your message.

I want to be able to have the payments taken out automatically so I would need recurring payment for that. Correct? I know that I could send an invoice and have them make the payment, however, I want it to come out automatically.

Okay, maybe you can direct me in another direction. Do you have documentation on the Paypal recurring payments? Also, do you have to use the subscription feature for the recurring payments? Thanks!

Then, yes you need recurring payments for that.

There is no documentation besides what is written here for now:
www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...a-subscriptions.html

The configuration of the paypal recurring plugin is really simple. Just publish it and enter your paypal account email in the options and you're good to go for it.
But yes, you need to use akeeba subscriptions and follow the instructions of the documentation to setup the integration between Akeeba subscriptions and HikaShop.
