Categories duplication [Solved]

It has been several months since I needed to change my site and I've made a mistake on my categories display page that I've, so far, been unable to correct.

I need to add several more categories, but after I added the 1st new category and tried to change the ordering. I found that the categories were duplicated on the page displaying the categories.

The display I want is the lower display, (2 rows of 4 columns) to replace the upper 2 column arrangement. I cannot see how I came up with a duplication instead of the lower display replacing the upper display

Further to this earlier post, I now find that the page I referred to:

has now reverted back to its original form showing the categories in 2 columns. But I have no recollection of changing any settings that would affect this !!!! I have only been adding new products this morning and just noticed the change after I added a new category.

Where do I change the layout of the categories on this page. I have looked at where I expected them to be but no success so far. I want the categories to be display in 4 columns because there will not be a total of 10 categories.

Problem solved. All this time I have been looking at the settings in the Display Tab in Configuration, when I should have been looking at the Hikashop Options in the menu item for the Product Catalogue.
