Attach document/picture to shopping cart item

Hello,

I have added a custom field so a file or picture can be added to an item when shopping.
This all works fine. For one product I have added 2 characteristics. After I added these characteristics I can not attach a document any longer. there is no error message, but the file is not added.

If you follow this link etikettenland.nl/index.php/etiketten-op-...ategory/23-diepvries you see 2 products. The first product (Sticker test 1) has characteristics and no attachment can be added. The second product (Sticker test 2) does not have characteristics and an attachment can be added (sorry for the dutch language).

Do you know why this is happening and how to solve this?

I have 2 other questions:
1. I only want to allow to add an attachment for certain products. I want to steer this via options: if you choose an option 'add own design' you can add a file. If this option is not chosen, the Add file field should not be visible. Can this be arranged in php and if so how?

2. If you add a field for an item (file or text), you can not change this anymore during the checkout process. You can only delete the item and recreate it. Is there a possibility to enable changing values during the checkout?

Hi,

I made a lot of test in order to reproduce your problem and I didn't.
Is it possible to have an access to your back-end in order to check your custom field and product configuration ?

About your 2 other questions :

1 - You can limit custom field to some categories.
You can use hidden categories for "filtering".
You can use the option "Display limited to" to link the display of your file custom field to another item custom field (like a yes/no radio)

2 - Changing during the checkout is not possible.
The custom fields could be quite complicated and with classical web, it would be really complicated (like file updates).

Hi Hugo,

I have finally found the problem : the custom field category limitation.
With two variants and a category limitation for the custom field, it is not process correctly by the getInput.
Nicolas fixed the problem and I have update your store with the fixed version.

During my tests, I removed a variant for your two variants product. I have recreate it but I didn't have your colored images. Sorry !
But the good point is that the bug is fixed :)

Thanks for the fantastic support!
Don't bother about the image; I can easily recreate it.

About 2nd point: it works indeed the way you mention.
However, it would be nice to solve this via options. If you intend to use this to upload own patterns that must be printed, it is also possible to charge additionally if you choose this option.
But.. That would be a nice extension for the next version!
