Hello,

How can i turn off the "not enough stock" popup and allow people to order over the stock quantity? We get deliveries in all the time so when the person orders it we may have them on the shelf when we come round to processing the order.

Yours.

Hi,

And why not use the unlimited quantity ?
If you have deliveries in all the times, you don't need to set the stock, no ?

Thank you for the quick reply.

It is the fact that this isn't the case with all of our products. Some can take over a year to come into stock. I am using the stock quantity as a guide for the customer, so they won't be disappointed if we have to back order some of their order.

Hi,

It's not possible to do that.

The best way should be to set the products frequently delivered stock to unlimited, and set a normal stock for the others.

Just confirming -- it isn't possible to configure HikaShop to allow products that are out of stock to be ordered by the customer?

Hi,

This feature is in our TODO list but for the moment, it's not possible.
Some users have a two level quantity. They have modified some views in order to let "100" units (or another number) as "pre-order" products.

Many thanks for the speedy response!

How does this work? If the product has a stock level over 100 then that means it needs to be ordered from the supplier -- and therefore has a lead-time before the order can be fulfilled? But if the stock lvel is less than 100 then that is the actual number of that product in stock?

No, it's the other way around.

For example, you have a product with a stock of 150 (50 in reality).
The users can purchase the product normally.
And when the stock goes below 100, it means that there is no stock anymore. But the users can still purchase the product normally.

On your end, you can simply configure the out of stock notification plugin to send you an email when the products stock is below 100 (note that you will also have to configure your cron task first in order to use that plugin).
