Display category description

I have a Hikashop Content Module (list display of categories) setup as a menu, configured to show "all direct subcategories".
The menu display is correct, but selecting a category from the menu doesn't display the category description.

Using another menu of the type "Hikashop Categories Listing" that points to the root product category, I can drill down and the category descriptions are displayed.

How can I get the category description displayed in the first scenario?

Hi,

In your HikaShop content menu configuration, you would find an option "Type of item layout".
You can select a type of layout which display the description (override one or create a new one).

I'm not understanding - and I see the same behavior on the Hikashop demo site.

When selecting a category from the menu "CATEGORIES OF PRODUCTS" in the left position, no descriptions are displayed, the parameters available are limited (attached) for type "list".

From the top menu on the demo site, selecting "Display Div / Table" from "Categories Listing" displays the category descriptions.

It would appear that category descriptions aren't displayed for type "List", which means a dynamic menu of product categories isn't possible if category descriptions are needed.

Hi,

It is because you are using a listing "list".
You have to use the type "div" in order to have the choice of the layout.

This screenshot, would give you more information:
