Big Problem with checkout

I previously entered this in another topic - but it's importance has increased - so I made it a new topic.

On the first checkout page where you enter your address - There are astericks on most text boxes but they do not work. (they do work on later pages) I have people placing orders that go through without email addresses and some without address. Received this response: The required error has been already reported and I will fix that problem as soon as would have to time to do it. This is our busiest season and the first one with Hikashop. One order came through with no name or address except for email - and "Alabama" as the state. I talked with the customer and he did enter the info but it just did not get through the program.

This has happened 2 or 3 times THAT I KNOW OF and I usually can contact the customer for details.

Today I had a call from a very frustrated lady who was trying to order but the state Alabama kept coming up and she could not change it (I think her computer locked up) and could not order and had to phone me. (Alabama is the first state on the list - USA)

Could you please bump the importance of this up a bit instead of "I will fix that problem as soon as would have to time to do it." Hikashop should not fail people during the Holiday Season. This is an intermittant problem - we have also been getting orders through normally - but we should not have this many complaints. Our site: www.honeyflowfarm.com/ (Hikashop 2.0)

The first time the problem have been reported, I've spent more than 4 hours making tests in order to reproduce this kind of problem, without success. I can't reproduce it so I can't fix it.
All tests made works good. After that, if there is some javascript errors, the required field check could not work properly.
It was not a message in order to say that the problem is not important. I have create an issue and I have already work on it a long time in order to fix it.
When the rest of the team would come back in order to help me for the support and development, I am sure that this issue would be fix faster.

If you want to send us a link to your store, we would be able to test it and see this problem in action.
For the moment, we can't reproduce it, it means that if we can't see it, we can't fix it.
So, help us will help you.

You can enter no name/address and an order will go through to the next page without a warning on my computer running firefox. (same problem in IE) I cannot replicate the problem some of our customers are having since all the test order I made looked ok. If you wanted to see the backend and the orders with no address I could send private message.(How do I do that?)


Note - I just received another order - this time no email address (last time this happened I got a bad address return from email program (Hika did not send the entered email address)

Thanks for your link. I made some tests and I now understand why I can't reproduce your problem. The fix has been already made few weeks ago.
Please re-download HikaShop 2.0, it would fix your problem.

How do I get a new copy - my version already says "You have the latest stable version : 2.0.0" without buying another one. I do not have the link.

Also - in extension manager I have: "Hikashop BusinessWe did not find a license attached to your website honeyflowfarm.com/ . Pl..." and " www.hikashop.com/component/updateme/upda...D/file-extension.xml

Hi,

Your license is currently not attached to your website (no website attached to be precise).
HikaShop is still in version 2.0 but we have made some mini-release for small patches.

You can go into your account : www.hikashop.com/en/account/your-subscriptions.html
To re-download HikaShop 2.0
You can assign your license to your website too, if you want a working auto-update.

I did as you suggested and it lets me download this file:C:\Users\William C. Schnute\Downloads\Compressed\com_hikashop_business_1.5.7_2012-05-17.zip (I don't think that is the most recent.)

I also put in our website: www.honeyflowfarm.com but it reverted to: honeyflowfarm.com after saving. (I use www.honeyflowfarm.com )- and it did not help the "currently not attached to your website" in extension manager.

"Subscription valid until 17 May 2013, click here to extend it to 17 May 2014"

Hi,

I think you didn't look at the right file.
When you download HikaShop, the date in the file is the current date. So if you had download HikaShop today, the filename would be "com_hikashop_business_X.X.X_2012-11-26.zip".
So your file "com_hikashop_business_1.5.7_2012-05-17.zip" have been downloaded the 17th May 2012, not today.

The current version of HikaShop is 2.0.0

I understand what you are saying but the page is downloading an old one that I already have. This is the most recent one I have in my downloads file: com_hikashop_business_2.0.0_2012-11-07

I have a screenshot of what the page is letting me download...

Hi,

Please deactivate your special download manager or use another browser.
It is like your special download extension for firefox see that you have already download this file and do not re-download it.

HikaShop business file size is: 2 172 504 Bytes.
It is not possible for our script to send an old version of HikaShop.

You did good work. I un-installed my download manager and then I could download the correct file. I installed it and all is fine. I checked and could not proceed with the order without the fields filled in and a test order went through fine. One minor thing - I test purchasing a taxable item, and the tax was added - but it was removed on the next to last page and went through that way. I have the product set to "sales tax" (is default tax the same thing)?

Good news about the download and the fix !

About your tax problem. Did you select a address in the first checkout step ?
Maybe your address is out of the tax zone.
When installing HikaShop, the tax category "Default tax category" is created. So I think that your "sales tax" has been created by you.

If you still have problem with tax configuration, you can send me a backend access by private message and I will check your configuration.

I checked your taxes and they are correct I think.

The tax will only apply if the current address of the user is not a company, is in Michigan, and that the product's tax category is set to "sales tax".

Are you still able to reproduce the problem ?
What product did you use for your test ? What address ?

I still have a partial problem about the sales tax going away - but just found that it only does it when someone selects "local Pickup"

This is the tax issue:

Step 1 - add pair of tapers to cart:
www.honeyflowfarm.com/beeswax-candle-sho...beeswax-tapers-pairs (Add any pair of candles)

Product succesfully added to cart pop up stays on forever unless closed. (This is the pop up problem)

I proceed to checkout - use any fictitious email, address but use state as "Michigan", city of "dryden" & zip code "48428" & country USA (Our info)

Register address & tax comes up fine - then "next" www.honeyflowfarm.com/checkout/checkout/step/step-1
Select some payment and shiping - then next, and tax added goes away?

NOTE - I JUST FOUND THE THE TAX GOES AWAY ONLY IF I HAVE "LOCAL PICKUP" SELECTED - UPS & USPS IS OK - I CHECK THE LOCAL PICUP METHOD AND THE TAX WAS SET TO NONE - BUT CHANGING IT TO "SALES TAX" DID NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE.

Tax category is "sales tax"

Please modify the file administrator/com_hikashop/helper/helper.php
In this file, you would found the function "hikashop_getZone".
In this function, please replace

This fix would be include in the next release of HikaShop.
