Tie discounts to customer accounts

Hi,

I searched on this forum for this but couldn't quite find what I was looking for, although I think it should be possible. Basically I want to give certain customers a fixed discount automatically, so without them having to enter a coupon or whatever. So just tie a specific discount percentage to the customer account, so that when they log into their account and place an order their appropriate discount will automatically be taken into account.

I want to do this because we will have resellers reselling our products, and as such they'll be entitled to a 15% discount.

How would I go about that?

What you can do is use the multiple prices per product.
This option allow you to set different prices on the products depending on the customer user group.

If your resellers are in the group, for example, resellers so they will have a different price.

This option is available in the commercial version of HikaShop.

Thank you for the reply. If I'm not mistaken I have to create these user groups in the Joomla backend, correct? Not within Hikashop? I'm using Joomla 1.5 and creating custom usergroups isn't possible. I'm not aware of an option in Hikashop that allows you to create usergroups, this would be a great feature IMO.

Even so, this wouldn't be ideal as I would then have to change twice the amount of prices whenever we change our prices. Ideally you would be able to put customers into a group like you suggest, and then tie percentage discount to that group, so that they'd always get for example a 15% discount. This way you wouldn't have to manage multiple prices for products, which can be tedious if you have a lot of products or make frequent changes to your prices.

The usergroups are in Joomla, we don't manage that because it's supported since Joomla 1.6.

In HikaShop, you can apply a discount on a customer group only, it can be your solution.

For Joomla 1.5, you can try to use Ajf ACL to manage groups:
