Question about information passed to Authorize.net

I have a client that needs to have information displayed in the payment emails from Authorize.net. Their accounting department uses that information to help determine which department the money paid should be allocated to.

Currently the emails they receive about purchases through Hikashop have a section that looks like this:

========= ORDER INFORMATION =========
Invoice :
Description :
Amount : 15.00 (USD)
Payment Method : MasterCard
Type : Authorization and Capture

What they need is the description line above to contain information about what was purchased. I could be some general text, or even a listing of the items purchased. Regardless we need a way of presenting information there. I know it is possible as other components that tie into Authorize.net do this, but I am just not certain how to do that for Hikashop.

Does anyone know a way to modify the authorize.net payment plugin to send text to Authorize.net during checkout so that is will be displayed in that field?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,

I think the email that you mention is a Authorize.net email, not an HikaShop one.
HikaShop can send email to the administrator thanks to his order notification (but you have to publish them) or directly in the payment plugin.
If you want to modify the payment plugin email content, you would have to edit the plugin file directly and check the "$mailClass->send" references to see when email are sent.

Jerome,

Thank you for the information, but I think you misunderstand me. I know that the email that I quoted comes from Authorize.net. What I need is the Authorize.net payment plugin for HikaShop to send some text to Authorize.net along with the payment information. If it is attached to the correct parameter (or field, as I don't know the correct terms from the Authorize.net perspective), it will appear on that email in the description.

The client that I am working with has a setup where their account department does not get the order emails, or the payment emails, that come from HikaShop. They only receive the Auhtorize.net payment information. Thus they are needing the description field populated so that they know which department gets the money that just came in from the sale.

I know this is possible, as I have other components (membership management and event booking) on the same website that handle payments through Authorize.net and the description field is filled in. I just don't know how they did that. I thought first I would ask here to see if you folks had any thoughts how to change the plugin to pass the needed information to Authorize.net within your plugin.

What I need, at a minimum, is just to be able to insert a canned line of text into that field. Ideally, if the names of all products in the shopping cart could be added, that would be best.

Does this explanation help? Do you understand what I am looking for now?

Hi,

I understand right, I just wanted to confirmed it.
As I said, yes, it might be possible to modify the plugin but we need to know which information has to be added in the plugin, which information the plugin should send to Authorize.net and how to send it.
