"File Not Found" error message

I'm sorry, I previously posted this message in the wrong place by mistake, (General Talk) and so am re-posting it here.

I sell PDF documents on my website and everything was working fine until my last test. When I click on the download link in my email, it prompts me to log in to my website, which is okay. Once I log in though, I get a page with the message "file not found", although a working link to download the file is below on the same page. Please see attached screenshot. Why am I getting this "file not found" message and how can I fix it? Thank you!

I did get a response in the other forum that said to download and install the latest Hikashop, which I did. It did not fix the problem.

Thanks for your advice.

Hi,

I see two possibilities.
1) The file that you have attached to the link does not exists anymore in your sever. So the file is not found.
2) You are not using the latest HikaShop version (I have just upload a new package tonight, with latest fixes).

Thanks for your reply.

1.) If the file is no longer on the server, how can there be a working link on the same page as the error message which, when clicked, downloads the file with no problem?

2.) I did download and reinstall Hikashop 2 hours ago, as you previously suggested today, and the problem is still there.

I'm very concerned customers will get the message "file not found" when the working link is there at the bottom of the page, as shown in the screenshot I first posted.

Thanks again.

Regards,

No offense, but your response above "2 hours ago is not 1 hour ago" sounds rude and dismissive. Your original reply to me, sent at 2:30 this afternoon, suggested a new download and installation, which I did at 4:30 pm PST.

I just re-downloaded from your website again and re-installed on my website again. The problem is still there.

I'm hesitating to ask for resolution to this important issue, given your last response. Please advise. Thank you.

Edited to add: In looking at the zip files I downloaded this afternoon and this evening, they are both named "com_hikashop_starter_2.0.0_2012-12-01"

Hi,

We had a bug with file download last week and we made a patch on it.
This week and I remade a big part of the file download in order to improve the design and add new features, I have publish the pack just before sending you the message #79731.
Actually, it is 5:20 am for me.

If you want, we could check your HikaShop configuration and look at a fix, we would need a backend access to your website (with the right to upload a new HikaShop package or a FTP access in order to add some debug traces).
You can use Private message to send such private information.

Thanks very much for your reply.

I hesitate to email the administrative username and password to the website back end, again, no offense. I'd like to revisit this problem again tomorrow and try to solve it without emailing such sensitive information, if there's any way it can be fixed otherwise first. Thanks.
