Shipping calculation method for multiple items?

Hi,

I have a question regarding Hika and shipping costs for multiple items.

I have shipping costs set up into weight bands, for example 0-500g @ 1 Euro, 501g-1000g @ 2 Euro, etc..

If an item weighs 200g and a customer buys three of them, how does Hika calculate the shipping: is it 3 x 1 Euro or 1 x 2 Euro (which should be the correct option)? (I have tested this but I'm entirely sure what is going on, hence my quesation.)

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere, I have searched, but none of my search phrases came up with anything.

Cheers,

Steve

PS am using Hika Business v2 & Joomla 2.5.8

PPS I think this may be in the wrong board but I'm guessing it might lead to a "how to?" question

Hi Steve,

It depends of if you are using the Use price per product option. If that's not the case your shipping will be calculated like this :

200g+200g+200g = 600g SO we have to use the 501g-1000g shipping method, then the price will be 2€.

else :

You'll have to set a shipping price for each product trough the shipping prices tab of your product page.

Hope this will help you.

Ah,

Thank you for the clarification. I do have the "use price per product" option selected so to achieve what I want, i.e.

200g+200g+200g = 600g SO we have to use the 501g-1000g shipping method, then the price will be 2€

I need to deselect the "use price per product" option.

Its starting to make sense now B)

Many thanks,

Steve
