Hi there,

I wonder how to upgrade from essential to business version? Do I have to uninstall the old version? How about the data already built?

Thank you very much. :)

Hi,

It's good to know that you'll upgrade your Hikashop version :), I think that you'll find your answer there :

If you want to install the latest version of HikaShop or upgrade to any commercial version, the upgrade process is as easy as the install one!
You don't have to uninstall HikaShop. Simply proceed as explained above and install the new package via the Joomla "Install/Uninstall" screen and HikaShop will be upgraded without loosing any of your data.

Hope this will help you.

Hi,

yes, I really love the support and service of you brilliant guys!

I get one concern:

As I have modified many parts of the files in the installed essential version, like some language .ini file, com_hikashop files, mod_hikashop files, and also front end CSS file.

If I upgrade, will those files be overridden? How can I manage it?

Hi,

If you edited the language override file via the Languages tab of the configuration, the view files via the Display->Views menu and the CSS files via the Display tab of the configuration, you won't loose your changes. But if you edited these files directly, you will loose your changes.
We always recommend to customize HikaShop files via the interface so that you don't loose your changes when you update/upgrade.
If you did, I'm afraid that you will have to save your changes somewhere and reapply them to the new files after the update/upgrade.
