Create a product filter menu?

I am creating a site for a shoe store and haven't found the easiest way to create a product filter for browsing the store.

I would like to create a left side menu filter very similar to how Newegg.com does it.
To illustrate what I am wanting to do, please see their monitor shopping filter:
www.newegg.com/LCD-Monitors/SubCategory/ID-20

I would like for customers to be able to search for all Black casual shoes in size 6 in the $100-$125 range, for instance.

Any tips on how to make this easy?

The individual characteristics needed would be:

Brand
Size
Color
Type (Casual, Boots, Sandals, etc)
Price (I would just create a few ranges; 0-100, 101-150, etc)
Heel Size
Width

Is this something that can be done with Hikashop?

Sure you'll just have to use the filter feature through "Hikashop->Display->Filter".
