Change the Filter's URL

Hi! I've got my main product listing (without the category, just the all products listing + filters page), the alias for the product-listing page is set to "catalogue". When I use my filters, the url is transormed from domain.com/index.php/catalogue to www.domain.com/index.php/hikashop-menu-for-products-listing which is not good for the SEO optimization.

So, in the Hikashop > Display > Content menus I tried to change the alias to "filtred" or smth, but it didnt change.

Basically, it exists 2 same products listing (and products too) pages (with same meta-description) with different urls:

www.domain.com/index.php/hikashop-menu-f...ing/product/6-varese
www.domain.com/index.php/catalogue/product/6-varese

Dont think Google will like it. How can I change it? Thanks.

---

The same thing is observed when I move from the one product to another by clicking on it in the Related Products module, it gives me the link :

www.domain.com/index.php/hikashop-menu-f...g/product/XX-PRODUCT

while I want it to be domain.com/index.php/catalogue/product/XX-PRODUCT

I badly need the help, since Google bot surely wouldn't like that.

Hi,

In your filter module please make sure that the menu option field is set to the id of your catalog menu item and that should do it.

I set the id in the filter's moduel settings to 301 and the url when filtered changed from :

/catalogue
/catalogue/product/listing

what is not what i wanted, but still its better. I can disallow for this url for scanning in the robots.txt

Now what about the related products module? I am still redirected to the /hikashop-menu-for-products-listing/product/XX-name while i want to the url to be displayed as "/catalogue/product/XX-name".

The menu type for the related products module is set to my Catalogue menu. But i still get that damn url.

Here's my screenshot of the module settings.

Hi,

Would it be possible to have more information about your menus ?
more precisely, the catalogue menu and the hikashop-menu-for-products-listing menu.

Thanks

Lol. I just set the "None" to the "Menu" filed in the settings of Related Products and now it works fine. I mean, when i click on the product from the Related Products on the product page - I am redirected to domain.com/catalogue/product/24- and no to domain.com/catalogue/hikashop-menu......../product/24

:D

Ah, actually, why do I have the url like this : domain.com/catalogue/product/24- I mean the "-" after the product number. Is it possible to delete it from the url? Ty.

After the - you have the product name. Since Joomla 2.5, the special characters are kept as UTF8 codes but if you're on Joomla 1.5, or if you use some third party SEF component, the special characters will be removed and you might end up with an empty product name.
I don't think that the dash can be removed but that's more a SEF issue than a HikaShop issue.
