Essentials Not Installing

I have just purchased Hikkashop essentials and can't get it installed. Have followed all the documentation I can find. When I purchased essentials I was sent a Tar. file. I downloaded this and went to my Joomla extension installer, clicked the file to upload. It goes through to 100% fine and then nothing happens?

I run Joomla 2.5..Out of frustration I uninstalled the Hikka shop starter pack and retried...Nothing again.

I then went into the host area, deleted and removed the whole site (Am rebuilding my site so wasn't a drama) reloaded the basic Joomla 2.5 file, re-installed Hikka shop starter so its the only extension on there (As I read you can upgrade to the business versions fine over the top of the free starter version) and then re-treied installing the business version Tar. file...Again same thing, processed to 100% and then nothing..

Starting to get frustrated and its likely my fault somehow but can't see why this is not working.

Is it because I run Joomla 2.5? Shouldn't be as it says its compatible....

Basically I want to utilize Alpha Points for purchases on my site and read that you have to have a commercial version of Hikka shop to be able to do this, yet I can't even install the commercial version..Please help ASAP as I'm wasting a lot of time trying to solve this and want to get back to re-building my site..

Hi,

We detect a problem with the HikaShop download files, the problem has been fix yesterday.
You can re-download the HikaShop installer file and, if your installation still do not work, you can add the parameter "ext=zip" at the end of the download url like :

http://www.hikashop.com/en/component/updateme/download/level-starter.html?ext=zip
Add this parameter to the download url would send you the zip version of HikaShop.

OK,

Even more annoyed now. last night after finally leaving my computer at 4am trying to solve this after 8-10 hrs of trying to make it work, support contacted me by email, who was a great guy and tried to assist me was basically saying it was a permissions issue, I gave him my details he needed to go in and fix this himself as he suggested he would do. Was hoping to wake up this morning with it being sorted..No luck, it appears he didn't do such.

Now you mention Jerome its an issue with the download files..Fair enough but don't I feel great after 8 hrs of trying to make something work and ALSO being told it was nothing wrong with the Hikka files..

But all good I hoped after seeing this post, just download the new file and away we'll go..If only it was that easy..So I went in and agin did a completely new install of Joomla to ensure nothing would remain behind to conflict. I downloaded both the starter pack files again and the essential files again..Went to my extension installer and guess what?

Now even the starter pack does the same thing, neither files work. At least last night I could at least get the starter pack to install..Now its doing exactly the same as what the essentials was doing last night, it appears to load, gets to 100% and then nothing..Doesn't install, no error messages, just nothing....

I gave Nicholas my details last night to get on my site and do what he needs to do..I did change my password this time around, allhe needs to do is add another 0 to my admin password, login names etc are still the same..

Could you guys please get this sorted out, Nicholas mentioned that you do garantee to get it running, he I'm sure can pass the details/email that contained all my details to whoevers he needs to see if we can get this sorted...If its too hard feel free to give me my money back. If I sound a bit annoyed please understand its not directed at anyone, just really frustrated a paid program is causing such issues and so far nearly 10 hours of my own time to try and get sorted..

If it is possible to have an admin access in the backend and, I think it would be useful, an ftp access.

Hi,

HikaShop installed with success !

You hosting have a problem with the "tar.gz", so I used a zip file.
You can download the zip file thanks to the "your subscriptions" page, just have to add "?ext=zip" at the end of the download URL like:

http://www.hikashop.com/en/component/updateme/download/level-starter.html?ext=zip
We would update as soon as possible the "your subscriptions" page in order to propose directly these links.

I really appreciate your efforts Jerome and thankyou very much for getting that sorted. I use Chrome I could't see a way to add the zip aspect.I thought it may be due to the fact of it being a tar. file but wasn't sure how to retrieve the zip file instead from my subscription page because as soon as I hit the link it wouldn't give me a chance to change anything to a zip..Perhaps its the translator I was using but just cldn't see how I could do it.

Anyway, long story short, you got it sorted by the looks of it and I really appreciate the support..
