Hallo,

One menu item on topmenu ("Shop") opens main categories overview page. That is home page of my shop.
Than I have one main menu on this home page with other items of shop: Every one item opens a page with one of categories.

But if I pres the foto of one of categories (not item on main menu), opens another page, and this page looks different. Than, I think, I have double pages.

How to make that items and foto's or titles open that same page?

Hi,

Could you give us a screenshot to your website to understand more what is your problem ?
I think that you have a template assignation problem, look in the Template options of Joomla which template is the default template and if some pages are assigned to another template.

Hi, template is okey. I mean, two different modifed pages. I can not make (or I make a mistake) that same page from topmenu item (first level category) as from mainmenu item (second level category): 3 categories and down 4 subcategories.

The first page (first level categories overwiev) I open from topmenu.
Than I have two possibilities to open lower page: from main menu or press category foto.

If I press foto, opens a page with 3 categories (now only one, and the place for another two) and down too 3 subcategories columns(so is modiefed in hikashop through topmenu item.

If I pres mainmenu item, opens a page with 4 subcategories columns (so is modiefed in hikashop through mainmenu item. And all lower pages are diferent too.

I want to have 4 subcategory columns.
Sorry, but I tried to add screens, but ...

My English is so bad... But I try to explain.

Hi,

I stumbled against the same problem as stated above.
This problem is cause by different links.

your Joomla 'menu-item' has an alias, which you can modify a lot.
Yet Hikashop creates other links inside a category listing.

What I did to solve this problem is the following.

1. Create a link with an alias with Joomla which gets you the wanted results.

2. Create a image or div inside the category description which covers the Category item by 100%.

3. Link the image or div from step 2 which the link created in step 1.

All links have the alias on it, so Joomla rules on

You can take a look at our webshop to see what I mean.

www.deurenbergmedia.nl/webshop

www.deurenbergmedia.nl/webshop/categorie/12-kerstkaarten

www.deurenbergmedia.nl/webshop/categorie/21-boeken

instead of

www.deurenbergmedia.nl/hikashop

www.deurenbergmedia.nl/hikashop/categorie/12-kerstkaarten

www.deurenbergmedia.nl/hikashop/categorie/21-boeken

I hope this helps.

With kind regards,

Billy Ho

Hi Billy,

I have only one joomla item in top menu which opens shop home page (main categories overwiev only, without subcategories of products. Jast 3 maincategories pictures without content.

Then ich picture have to open a product overwiev page of this category. I think, that is a simple way for customer.

I have too on this shop page mainmenu with items for continue listing: or press on picture en go to products overwiev page or press "product overwiev" item on mainmenu en go to that same page as picture press. But picture does not goed.

Mainmenu is on every page, than customer can go back or to another page, what hi wants. The categories pictures are only on home page.

How can I create link or alias for this pictures, I dont understand. This pictures I add when I create a category in hikashop, not in description area, not in joomla. In hikashop there is no way to create alias or links.

I don´t understand why in hikashop is not possible create links for pictures. Or I don´t know how to do this.

Can you explain me?

Thanks, Vero

What I did was the following.

.1 I created a menu-item using the Joomla menu manager (Example: index.php/shop).

.2 I asigned the menu to open a categoy-listing of Hikashop.

- Now you will get a page with the various categories and a link with an alias created by Joomla.

.3 Go to your Hikashop component and go to View.

.4 Change any 'view'-items (example: Catergoy-listing) to get the propper layout using CSS.

.5 Create a category, inside the editor: you make a div with an class and a link.
- The link should include the alias of your menu. (Example: index.php/shop/category-1)

.6 Go back to your view editor and modify it so you class covers the entire category-item by 100%.

- This will prevent the visitor from clicking on the Hikashop generated link,
but instead they will click on the link you gave the div.

This is the way I did it
and might not be the correct way.
I hope this helped you.
But if this didn't help you, you might want to wait for official support instead.

With kind regards,
