First of all Hika Shop seem to be great. I have made a web shop in Virtue Mart and oh boy that was really no fun at all.
Hika Shop looks so much more ready in one box solution.
However in the start I need some things done that i haven't figured out how to accomplish yet..
Is this possible and if how to do it:
1. Hide the cart when it's empty
2. How to add a product image to a product so the default image don't display
3. Is it possible to batch move several products between different categories?
4. How to activate the search for products plugin that uses Joomlas own search function?
5. If I want two languages in the shop/possibility to shift between them, how do I do that?
I have a two language site that is made with Joomlas language shifter and all by the book article by article translated.

URL: www.fly-tiers.se
Oh I use the free version of Hika Shop so far.
Cheers
Micke

Hi,

1. You can override the view in order to display nothing when the cart is empty or add some "inline CSS" in order to hide the html div.
2. You can add images to products in the backend, while editing a product, in the right column : section "Image".
3. It's not yet possible but the "batch processing" is already in our TODO list.
4. HikaShop have a "search" plugin which has to be activated.
5. You can use Falang which is a Joomfish fork for Joomla 2.5.

Thanks for responding!

1. Ok I have to check this out.
2. I figured it out.
3. Sounds good, however I also figured out that if you make a properly set up excel spread sheet with the correct columns and then save it as a comma separated text file it's just copy and paste and import as textfield, really good.
4. Got that one working as well, thanks
5. Falang is still a mystery, I was told to install Falang and then reinstall Hikashop (I have upgraded to Essential version) nad I can enable double both languages but I don't know how to get stuff translated.

Hi,

When Falang is installed, you have to go in the HikaShop configuration, in the "Languages" tab and activate the multi language option: Activate the edition of content in multiple languages.
After that, you would have little tabs in HikaShop product/category editing which would allow you to set translations.

Hi,
Yes I got that now, how do I then get the shop in an English version for the front end when I got things translated?
I have already trhe regular site translated to English and I am using the Joomla built in Language filter + Language shifter and have two menus and all menu items connected so that part is working exellent. Can I use the Falang + HikaShop only in the webshop?

Hi,
No I haven't installed the plugin yet. I didn't know I had to do that but now I know.
Thanks.
Tried to install it but it returned with an install error...
When looking into the installpackage hikaShop.zip there's no install package so is there some trick to get this working?

Hi,

The "FaLang Hikashop.zip" is not a joomla package. It's some XML that you should extract in a specific directory.
But I think that these files are already include in HikaShop.

If you do not create language override in FaLang it should not affect your website.
So, if you just use FaLang with HikaShop, it should work good.

Ok I see...
Got it all working, I didn't quite understand at first that you should use Falang separately from the built in joomla language shifter.
It' really neat and smooth, wish I had it installed from the beginning as it would have mmade the translation of my content outside the web shop
a lot smoother. ;)
