[Solved] Is this possible with options?

Hi,

I am setting up a store for a client with HikaShop Essential. They are selling wholesale coffee, but they have restrictions with that they would like to apply to their whole sale products.

For instance: They have a variety deal where the purchaser has to buy at least 5lbs of any of the 12 coffee products but can only purchase 25lbs combined. Any idea on how to go about this?

I tried using Characteristics for this first, but it seems that there's no way to set the maximum & minimum quantity effectively. They can only choose 1 combination at a time. So the 5lbs each for 25lbs maximum don't work out..

I tried options, but it seems that this was not the intended way to use options.

Is there a way to group products. Essentially we need a way to select multiple combination/options and to have them not only show up with the price, but also with the quantity count. If we could select how much of each combo/option that would be great.

Is any of these possible with HikaShop Essential? If so, could you please help or point me to where I can find out how to do this?

Thanks

Winchester

Hi,

What kind of deals is it ?
You can group products in categories (a product could be in several categories). And you can set discounts on categories with special rules.

Thanks you very much for the insight, Jerome. I tried and it seems to be just what I needed.

I created each of the 12 coffee products (dark roasted whole beans, dark roasted grounded, espresso roasted whole beans, etc.) priced per pound with 5lbs minimum and 25lbs maximum for each.

The deal is that for this series of products, customers can choose up to 5 types from the 12 (5lbs minimum per type and maximum, 25lbs)

I'm having a problem though. Whenever I add 1 coffee type (5lbs) and then try to add a second coffee type, the shopping cart says "Undefined" and then it reverts back to the first type added.

Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks again. I truly appreciate your help.

Oh yea.. I should tell you about the other setting I used.

I used "Limit" on the category to limit it to 25lbs. But I didn't add any dates to it. You think that could be the cause?

Hi Again.. I think I got it to work... It seems that I just needed to change the "Type" from "Weight" to "Quantity".

It this there should be a definitive way to set "weight" as the unit for the products. HikaShop seems to be guessing what unit to to use.

Thanks for your help again. You've been a great help.
