I am wondering if there is a way to have the URL I get when I have simplified Breadcrumbs BUT also have long/full product breadcrumb.

ie: Url with Simplified Breadcrumb:
product/89094-ferrite-magnets-cylinders-10x10/category_pathway-62.html

Has the Breadcrumb:
You are here: Home> Magnetic Products> Ferrite Magnets> Ferrite Magnets – Cylinders> Ferrite Magnets - Cylinders 10x10

Url with Non-Simplified Breadcrumb:
product/89094-ferrite-magnets-cylinders-10x10.html

But the breadcrumb:
You are here: Home> Ferrite Magnets - Cylinders 10x10

Is there a way to stop the sh404sef url from appending to "..../category_pathway-62.html"?

The simplified breadcrumb makes navigation from the product back to the category more difficult and the longer URL from the un-simplified breadcrumb is not not ideal.

Hi,

We already gave the answer several time about the pathway and the breadcrumb.
When you have an url with the pathway, you can't have a good breadcrumb. Because it's not possible to know where the user come from.
That's what the pathway give : a path way.

So, with the pathway, we could know from which category the user come from so we can display a real and complete breadcrumb. Because the breadcrumb contains links to parent categories. It means that you have to be sure that you can access to the category listing, you have to have this listing or you would have a 404 link.
After that a product could have several categories, the product listing could display products from all categories (or sub categories), etc.

So, you can't remove the "category_pathway-62" without loosing the information of the path, of the "where you come from", of the "what you want to display in the breadcrumb".
It's like a product without family, without link, abandoned.

Hi Jerome, thanks for your reply.

I have done a bit or a work around for this.

1) Using JoomSEF instead of sh404sef (it does not add the 'category_pathway-??.html)
2) Locked all urls with product/show in them
3) Via myphpadmin, did a sql find 'category/product/show' & replace with a blank.

The now I have:
magnetec.com.au/magnet.com.au/89094/ferr...r-magnet-10mm-x-10mm

That will work for me.

Thanks again Jerome.
