OK, I have finally resolved this. Thanks for the help. I think it will be helpful for other people to provide some information based on my experience:

- Product page image width and height options change the product resolution that is displayed when the menu connected to that product is clicked.
- In the module associated with the product category, image width and height should also be set for “Parameters for DIV”. Otherwise thumbnail image disappears.
- In the product’s main information page, any image can be uploaded (i.e. resolution of this image is independent from the resolution defined in the Configuration-->Files or DIV menu). The resolution of this image will determine the resolution of the display in lightbox pop-up window once the product image is clicked.

The thumbnail folders located in media/com_hikashop/upload care created automatically when the settings above are changed. So I think as long as all permissions for the upload folder are checked there is no need to play with these files through the ftp software.

I have realized that there is a display issue with the product image that appears to happen once the product title is clicked. Image shifts to right and the price and number of products are now on the lower left corner (attached). Why do you think this is happening? Right now, in the product information page, default is selected for the layout on product page parameter. I also tried inherit, reversed, and tabular and then switched back to default but I can't recover the product page to the initial condition. I want the product image to be left-aligned while the product price and number of the product stay on the right.

It indeed comes from the "layout on product page" option. Note that this option is at several places:
- on the product edition page. That the option with the most important priority. If you set "default" here for your products, it will display with the default layout, not matter what.
- on the category edition page. If you set the option on the product as inherit, the product layout will use the category's "layout on product page" option.
- in the Display tab of the configuration which is the last setting used if both the product and its ctegories are set to "inherit".

Nicolas,

I think the issue I am having here is related to the image width and height defined in Configuration--->Files. True dimensions of the image I have is 640x480. Dimensions I set in the Files tab for "product page image width and height" is 200x200 (attached). So when the customer clicks on the product title, he/she will display an image no larger than 200x200 but when he/she clicks on the image, the image will enlarge to its original size, that is 640x480, in the pop-up window.

My questions:
1) The image I have has rectangular dimensions. Should the dimensions I define for the "product page image width and height" be rectangular, too?

2) What other parameters (thumbnail dimensions, image dimensions etc.) should I define and how? If I need to modify any settings outside Configuration--->File tab, what settings need to be modified?

I am using the Essential version 2.0.0.

Thanks

Hi,

1. Not necessarily. You can if you want. HikaShop will resize the images but will keep the proportions so even if you set a width and a height of a square in the configuration, HikaShop will produce a rectangular thumbnail that fits in that square if the original image is a rectangle.

2. You should not need to change any other dimension option outside that screen, unless you want different image sizes for different listings and in that case, you should edit the hikashop options of your module/menu and set the width/height there for that listing.

OK, initially when I click on the menu and then on the item link, everything looks OK; however, once I add the item to the cart and go back to the menu and click again on the product title, product page looks like in the attachment. Is this a bug?

It's possible to reach that display depending on how you configured the options.
I don't see any bug on that screenshot.
And I don't know how your product pages look at other places of your website, so I can't say much about it.
Can you give a link to both product pages so that we can see the difference ?

Hi Nicolas, I wanted to revisit this issue as nothing changed. I have attached three images.

Image 1: Shopping cart is empty and I click a product link to display it. Everything looks normal.
Image 2: I click Add to Cart button. Product is added to the cart and the status of the cart is displayed.
Image 3: If I immediately go back to the product page by clicking on the product link, then I see that the product images are right-aligned and the Add to Cart button is now left-aligned. If I close the web browser and visit the webpage again, everything looks fine. What's going on?

You can test it at www.twoseedsinapod.com
I am currently using HikaShop Essential version 2.1.0

Hi,

It's sounds like it's just a CSS issue.

Add the CSS code below on your website and that should resolve the problem:
.hikashop_social_fb{ height: 10px; }

Thanks. You mean the front-end CSS file in the Display tab of Configuration menu, right? And can I add it anywhere in the file?
