Hi!

For a new project ( paint store) i ne3d a function but i dont know if its possible in hikashop.

i need an inputfield on every productpage where the customer can fill in the colornumber. This input needs to go with the email and in the order in the backend.

Is this possible and if so how can i implement this?

Thanks for your time!

We use in my company characteristics. We sell oil in different sizes and if you pre-define them and bring the goods to a man / variant seems to be on the order in the mail.

I'm using firebug, forumsearch, dokumentation and then I ask.. It's so easy ;)

Hi holm! Thanx for your reply.

Thats a coincidenc3, i just created a site that sells oil and i use characteristics as well :)

Unfortunatly i cant use it on the paint site because they mix the color special for the customer . That means we have wayyy to much options for characteristics :(

I really need a textfield there with a name like input_color that i can use in other places in the templates.

Hi,

You can use item custom fields.

Hi Jerome,

I thought as much, the problem is that I tried most of the options already. It's easy to add information to the productpage but I would like to add an input field.

In the ideal situation it would look something like this:

The red box is what I would like to add. The customer needs to fill in a paintnumber (eg RAL9010) and then hit 'Bestel' (Put in cart).
If the box is left empty the customer can't order.

The information in the box needs to be in the order confirmation, the invoice and the shopping cart checkout.

Is it possible?

Hi!

This is the original site:
2635500.mijnwinkel.nl/welkom/verf-wijzon...ans%201%20liter.html

They need the link to the 'kleurenwaaier' that one's easy, but the next one is an input field.

'Kleurcode' is the field that is required. They fill in the code and that's the color of paint that is ordered.

I have 4 days to say if it's possible or not, then they renew their subscription with mijnwinkel.nl

Can anyone help? :D

Hi,

For the "Kleurcode" you need to create a custom field in the table "Item" display it on the frontend and set it as required.

Hi!

Thanx for your reply, if i create a custom field for 'product' and I choose type 'text' I only get the output of that text in the frontend, not the input box itselve :(

Is it a feature in business? I have essential on my test-website so maybe that's my problem?

Hi,

You must create it for "item" and not "product" I'm not sure that it's available in Essential.

Thanks for your reply,

It works great! It is indeed an option for the business edition and after some fiddling with it I got it to work.

You are (as always) the best!

One tiny little thing, How can I get rid of that nasty asterix?
I need the field to be required, but the asterix is set on the next line :(
Like this:

What do I need to edit to get rid of it? :D

You can change it by css, use for example firebug to find the class to edit.
The input width needs to be reduced.
