Assign Flat Rate Shipping To A Specific Category

Hello,

I am currently using only manual shipping method (weight base) for all categories. Now I have to add a flat rate shipping just to a specific category. How to do this?

I think that you should maybe :
- Use the "Use the prices per product" option of your manual shipping method.
- Set a price for each products of your category through the "Shipping prices" tab of each product's page

I just found a similar thread and tested as you mentioned. But once a flat rate method created and published, all my other items in other categories will also show up this option on checkout. I don't want this option to show up in other category but only a specific category.

It will be good if there is a field that can be easily select apply to "all categories" or select "a specific category".

Or I think I will set up an option in the option for this, and set items in this category to zero weight. Hope this work.

Anyway, option is not the right solution, as it' show up a "No" selection.

I think I can add the flat rate to the item and offer as free shipping.

But Hikashop still the best I have worked with, other shopping cart has more problems.

Hope can see this in HikaShop future version:
A field that can be easily select apply to "all categories" or select "a specific category" in manual shipping.

Apologies for my unreasonable request!

After over night, I think it over before go to sleep. I realized it is impossible.

It is because if one category with a difference shipping method, the problem will be happened when come to the final checkout. How the system going to handle if a buyer select items from this category together with others ?

So the only solution is set up a sub-store for this special category.
