lets see if i can sum this up quickly

i had a joomla install on my hosting account using their"click to build" simple scripts

long story short that install prohibited me from updating the php version above 5.2.17 so i was forced to remove it and do a manual install of joomla using a new db

i was able to import the old db.dump file into the new db using myPHP

all my post and info came over fine

now onto my hikashop trouble.

when i click on the hikashop component in my admin control panel i receive an error

"404 - An error has occurred.

Component not found"

so i tried to download hikashop (com_hikashop_starter_2.0.0_2013-01-04.zip) and reinstall it on the extension manager panel
i receive the following error:

(Component Install: DB function reports no errors, Error installing component)

I have tried uninstalling hikashop first from the extension manager and i receive a long list of errors something along this line:

JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /homepages/23/d444253047/htdocs/cms/administrator/components/com_hikashop
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /homepages/23/d444253047/htdocs/cms/administrator/components/com_hikashop
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file
JFolder: :delete: Path is not a folder. Path: /homepages/23/d444253047/htdocs/cms/administrator/components/com_hikashop
JFolder: :delete: Path is not a folder. Path: /homepages/23/d444253047/htdocs/cms/components/com_hikashop
Component Uninstall: Can't uninstall. Please remove manually

I hope I have documented this well enough and maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance

I ended up creating a hikshop folder in my tmp folder and installing from there.

it still flashed up some type of error but then the install success page came up and everything seems to be working

Hi,

I think that you had a problem for unintalling because the database was containing HikaShop information but files were not present in the server.
So it should explain that the xml file couldn't be found during uninstall.
