Keep selected options grouped with order item

Is there any way I can keep selected options grouped with the order item?

When the customer finalises his order, options are added as a single product. To stick to the documentation example. If a customer buys two computers and adds 1Gb memory as an option on PC-2, it shows up as 1Gb-option, PC-1, PC-2 on the order. Now I don't know which PC to upgrade with 1Gb.

For 1 option I could "misuse" characteristics, however with multiple options the amount of sub products grows exponentially which brings much work when prices change on options.
