How to install Falang?

Hi all!

I recently added a language to my website and I know that to edit a second language for the product pages I need to install the Falang plugin.

However I have been trying to install it but it doesn't work. After a bit of research I realized that I was supposed to install it before I install Hikashop.

But I already have Hikashop installed as I've been using it for a year! How can I install Falang then?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You can install again HikaShop on your website, you will not loose your changes. (don't forget to backup before)

Thanks for your answer Xavier. However, I have made some changes to the "views" (affichage -> vues) files. Am I going to lose those changes?

Also, how am I supposed to install Falang? When I try to upload the archive file, I get the fllowing error message: "JInstaller::Install : impossible de trouver un fichier d'initialisation XML Joomla!"

Thanks in advance!

If you made the changes in HikaShop > Display > Views you will lose nothing.

To install FaLang, you have to extract the content of the first archive and you should find two versions of FaLang inside (one for J1.5 and one for J2.5).

Thanks Xavier. I've installed FaLang and it worked. However, I use the Business version of Hikashop and can't seem to find the installation package. Where could I download it?
Thans in advance!

Hi Xavier, no worries.
I figured out how to download the files again.

However, the product description doesn't work in the other language...

I have installed Falang, then re-installed Hikashop. I can translate any type on content on the website but we I go into a product and add a translation in the second language, it doesn't do anything. I don't understand why...

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Do you tried to translate it directly in the Falang componant ? Is it allowed ?
