styling of extra fields in the registration form

Hi all,
I've added extra fields, 6 check boxes and 14 text fields but I can't work out to have all the check boxes in one row and the extra text fields in 2 columns, I'm reasonably conversant with CSS but I'm afraid I just can't figure it out. Would appreciate some help please.

What you can try to do is edit the view "user / custom_fields" and close the table </table> and open a new one with some css properties to put it next to the other one.
