Tabs in category descriptions

Hi, is there any alternative method to getting tabbed content to display in category descriptions?

• I can't use the Tabber plugin because it needs php v5.3 (I'm still on 5.2).
• Enabling Joomla's core pagebreak plugin and setting the display to tabs works fine in my standard Joomla articles but does not work in Hikashop's category descriptions (inserting a pagebreak just renders as a horizontal rule).
• Have tried a few other 3rd party plugins but none work.

You can try to edit the .htaccess file to set your php env to 5.3.

The line to add is: "SetEnv PHP_VER 5_3"
