Hi

Two questions.
1. is it possible to hide a filter in the product listing but still have it visible in a seperate module. i have a filter/search module elsewhere on page and do not want it repeated in the product listing

2. on the top of my page i have navigation links
i.e "home>Category>sub-category" but when i go to the product page from an item in "sub-category" the navigation goes to "home>category>product" instead of "home>category>sub-category>product"
Is there anyway to fix this?

Thanks

Hi,

To disable the filters in the listing, you have to edit the menu/module parameters, you should find the option "Display Filters", just disable it.

It depends too on the configuration of your menu/module, you have to set the option "Sub elements filter" to "all sub elements".
You can find many topics about that on the forum.

Hi Xavier

Thanks for your answer. However when i disable the filter in the menu/module it make my external module not visible when i am on the page which contains the initial module. Sorry bit hard to explain hope you understand. The link below is to the site it might give you a better idea. If you click on the "candy link on the top menu you will see that the search module in the top right disappears.

Also is there a way to move the filter button to beside the search box.

I have also not been able to find a solution to the navigation. I have tried all variation of the sub element filter in both the category and sub-catergory and it is still not work. On the site above if you navigate to "candy" > "boiled sweets" and pick any product you will see what i mean.

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi,

Are you sure that the module is set to be displayed on all the pages in the joomla module options ?

In these same options, you can find "Filter button position" set it to "left".

Can you give us a screenshot of the configuration of the associated module to the "Candy" menu ?

Thanks for your reply,

With the button position set to left as in below screen shot. also it is definetly set to all pages

then the button goes below the search box instead of beside it

Also here is the module associated with the candy menu

i know i'm probably just missing something obvious but i can't seem to find it

Cheers

Hi there,

You should try to set the number of columns of your filter module to 2 and then edit the view filter of product (in disaply>views) to transform add some css and move it where you want.
play aroud with these lines to get what you want :)

echo '<span class="hikashop_filter_button_outside" '.$style.'>';
		echo $this->cart->displayButton(JText::_('FILTER'),'filter',$this->params,$url,'document.forms[\'hikashop_filter_form_'. $this->params->get('main_div_name').'\'].submit(); return false;','id="hikashop_filter_button_'. $this->params->get('main_div_name').'"');
		echo '</span>';

ok solved navigation issue. was just my own stupidity!!
Still having trouble with module display though.
Have a bit more info though

I have two main categories
"candy" and "cake"

These are then split into sub categories which are displayed with out products.
I want the filter to bring up results without sub categories listed so i set up a new category where all procts in "candy" category will also be.

However when i select the new category as the category for the filter then the filter is no longer displayed when in the "candy" or "cake" category however it is displayed when the filter category is set to "candy" or "cake" but then i have the sub categories listed first.

Sorry if all that is confusing the link below to the site should show you what i mean.if you click on "cakes" or "candy" you will see that the filter in the top right module disappears.

hope you can help

Sorry for all the questions but just realised some more

The content module on the right "top sweets" disappears when in the "cake" category even though its set to all pages and when in the "search results" page (extra category i set up for filter resuls - accessed by clicking search on filter module) the tops sweets module category changes to the "search results"

also on the search results page a social module i have on the right hand side disappears even though it is also set to all pages.

Very confused. any help would be much appreciated

EDIT: Ok. All sorted with everything. Persistence pays off.

THANKS
