Need help with Registration, Taxes and State Field

Here my list of issues.
For information I'm running the free edition, the site is www.slicksgreytbooties.com

1. We would like the user to not have to register and just do a "simple" checkout without registering. Is this possible.

Also, when registering the state filed does not show until after you verify you email and then you have to go back and edit the address? Any help.

2. TAXES - yuck OK I want to charge state tax only when shipping to Colorado. I have everything set right. The problem the tax does not show up unless you change the item ordered in the final checkout screen then it will add the tax.

Also, after adding the tax it adds it to the product price at the top, which is confusing. Can you set it to only add the tax at the bottom.

3. Order numbers...who came up with Z22, R12 and etc.... Can't you set it to start at order 1000 and then progress.

Ok I have a couple follow up questions.

Registration - I see this is only available with the upgrade as is the custom order numbers.

I need a little clairfication on the State feild not showing.

Your instructions were
For the state field, that's because you didn't configure the custom fields properly. Publish back the default country (France), then go in the menu Display->custom fields and set the correct default value for the country field and then the state field and unpublish the France country. Then it should work properly.

Are you substituting France with the United States. Could you please provide a step by step of what I need to do. Attached are the screen shot from my store.

For the state field, in System > Zones, publish back the country "France", then in Display > Custom fields edit the field "address_country" and change it to the wanted country, then edit the state field and set the wanted state, go back in System > Zones and unpublish the state "France".
