Auto select default shipping issue

Hi there,

I have read various threads but not found solution.
When I test the shop, the shipping method I offer is never automatically selected (even though I have requested this in settings). If the user tries to go to the next checkout stage (without selecting the shipping method) no warning message is given when the page refreshes (although there should be). As a result not very user friendly.

My settings:

- Joomla 2.5
- Hikashop 2.0.0
- Auto select default shipping and payment methods: YES
- Auto submit shipping and payment methods selection: NO


I believe the problem might be to do with whether login details have been saved or not. I have another website on a different TLD (identical content and hikashop settings). Here there is no issue - the shipping method is automatically selected. On this website my username/password is not saved and I have to type my login details each time I go through to pay. However on the first website (where auto select for shipping method is not working) my login details are saved and automatically appear when I go through to pay.

I believe this 'bug' has to revolve around whether login details are saved or not, as the content and settings are exactly the same on both sites. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated !!

Update:

Once I go through to the first stage of checkout, and before I enter my login details (before I login), I can see that the shipping method is automatically selected. However when I login the shipping method is then deselected.

It seems to be working fine for me, the shipping method is automatically always selected, did you solved your problem ?

No I did nothing. But I guess it looks like it works for all new users which is the main thing.
I wonder if it is something to do with cookies... Thank you again for your time

Can you try to disable the option "Auto select default shipping and payment methods" ?

Try to install again the latest HikaShop package over the actual.
