Badges for single item?

Is it possible to assign a badge for a single item? Our client does not want badges applied across a category, but would like to have individual items highlighted (special, discount, new, etc.).

The way that i did this, is make a category for each product that needed it, however just have the category unlisted, it's also very easy to monitor which products have selected badges.

Is it okay to assign a product to 2 categories? The way we display is to have all products from a category displayed at the bottom of a content page, so need all of those products showing all of the time. If one or more of them have individual discounts or other badges, do we simply add that category to the item? (Brand new to Hikashop!)

Multiple categories are fine (and make it much easier too!)

However there may be a way of assigning to an individual product which i'm unaware of, so i'm sure one of the moderators will reply confirming this.
