Specific products from Category on page

Hello,

I am struggling to find a way to place specific product items displayed on the page of a hikashop category list menu item.

For example, I have a category that i want to show 20 specific items when the user shows up to that menu items page. I have not found a way to do this....

Does a method exist to say put the ID number of the product or such so they appear?

Hi Steve,

You'll just have to use the "Associated category" option through "Hikashop->Display->Content menus->'Your product listing menu'", and set it to the product's category that you want to display.

I have to admit this is a bit confusing....

So there is no way to put a list of product IDs in a box somewhere??


So, I clicked the link to create the associate module, then went to the module, but it looks like I am to select a sub-category...

to be clear, what I am trying to do is this:

I have products in 5 different categories. I am using filters to allow them to select a product through the filters. However, when they go to the landing homepage of this menu item, I would like to show 20 specific items of my choosing... (thus putting my top products on that landing page). Then they can use filters to access the rest (or just the pagination process).

My solution would be to :
1. Create a category named "My new category" for example
2. Put your 20 products in this category through your products page
3. Use the "Associated category" option, and set it to your "My new category" category.

yes, ive come up with that work around also...

I am VERY surprised for such a professional-grade system (and i love hikashop) there is no option to select specific products to show first!! There needs to be an input box in the XML file where you can place the product ID's in to show first!!!...

I woud like to HIGHLY request this feature!!

Hi,

After creating the custom category with only your 20 products inside, you can order them.
In the product listing of your category, you should see an order column, just re-order your products and it will change which product is displayed first.

And in the module parameters, be sure that the "Ordering field" option is set to "Ordering". You can too choose the product_id as ordering value.
