Site registration off but keep Hika registration

For security / anti spam reasons, I have the site option to create a registration on the front end disabled for users.

Now it seems no longer possible in Hika to allow buyers to register. Because in Akeebasubscriptions this is still possible I assume it must be possible in Hika too?
Did I miss a crucial setting somewhere?

Its not about the Joomla registration its about Hikashop
We don't want the site registration on and showing up as link in the login screens.

It's a thin line here I assume but I want to keep the Joomla registration off in the standard login screens. Users-> options etc etc
But want shoppers to be able to register and login via Hika.

This must be possible because Nicholas did this with his ASUBS.

At the moment Hikashop seems to check the Joomla setting and sticks to that, I would love to see that independent.
