Hi,

If you're talking about changing the default order of the listing, you can edit your menu's hikashop options and change the "ordering column" and "ordering direction" options to product_sales to sort it by number of sales.
If you use filters, you can also create sorting filters on the price and on the product_sales :

Hi Nikolas!
Do you mean that the visitor can use a criteria and change the sorting of it?
I attached a template with a website that does exactly what I need to do. I dont need many fields. I need 1 dropdown with the sorting creteria. Like price, title, isbn...
Thank you

Hi,

Actually you have to create many dropdowns to sort the elements, we don't have one dropdown for different types of values.
But it's on the todo list.

Hello,
I am wondering about the same for Joomla 2.5, since I found in the documentation that this is possible with Joomla 3.
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/i...hop-filter-form.html
Can we do 1 drop-down with multiple sorting criteria in Joomla 2.5 ?
Thanks

Hi there,

With the last Hikashop version (2.2.0) you can indeed create a dropdown with different sort options.
It will work on 2.5 of course. To do so, just create a new filter (Display>Filter) and choose the type "Single dropdown". Then select "Sort" in the "Apply on option" and finally select price and rating in the Sort multiple dropdown.

I hope it will help you.

hello,
that's good... I just need one clarification.
In Hikashop installation -> About
It mention that the autoupdate is locked for the 2.2.0 version. Is it safe to proceed with the update on a production site ?
I also would like to have sorting by newest products. At my current site, when I try to create a sorting filter, I can't find a relative value for sorting this way... Is there any specific location where I can create these values for sorting ? Is this something that will be found in the new 2.2.0 version ?
Thanks

The autoupgrade will be open in few days because we had enough feedback and we consider it as stable.
However I would suggest to create a backup of your website if it's in product and that you have a lot of visit everyday, it will avoid any bad surprises.
About the sort on recent product it's not yet possible but it's quite easy to code and add so we'll think about it :).

Great that the new version is considered stable now.
Keep me posted about any plans regarding the newest - oldest sorting filtering, as it is a feature I am looking for.
I would prefer if I won't have to code it, if it is something that will be released in the near future.
Thanks

Hi,

You can read the change log to see the changes, if there is anything related on filtering it will be indicated. :)

Actually, what can be done is create a custom field in the table "product" and name it for example "date_of_publication", then for each products set the date, and in the filters you will see this field appear, and you can set a sort on it.

Sort on date is on our todo list, but we can't give a date, we have a lot of developments already.
