Hi there

When I add a new product, then it automatically is the last product.

I don't want to change the ordering no. all then time a new product is added.

Is there a way to set this, when adding a new product that it becomes automatically the top product?

I did some settings in the "Display" but without any results.

Please let me know how to do this.

Thank you!
Raphael

Hi,

Do you want it be first in the backend on in frontend listing ?

In backend you just have to click on the IDs to see it at first.
In frontend, you can change the module "Ordering field" option to "ordering", and it should display the latest at the first position.

Hi Xavier

I want to show the new product in the front end on top.
By the module; Do you mean the setting in the Disply / Default parameters for products / Ordering field ? Because I did not find any module with this name.
There it is set to "ordering" but the latest added product shows last....as the order number is the highest.

If the category has 12 items and I add one then it becomes automatically no. 13. Therefore if the setting is set to "ordering" then it will show last.
I always need to change the order no. on the back end and that I would like to avoid. In my opinion the latest added product should always show on top in the front end.

Is there a way to change that?

Best regards
Raphael

Hi there,

As Xavier said, you have to find your module displaying the product (Display>Modules) and change the "Ordering field" option to "ordering".
You then just have to change the order of the product in you backend.
We understand it's not really convenient so we'll think about something else in the future.
