Hi,
I have a set price for shipping and i would like to be able to configure it to have a lesser shipping price for each additional item. Is there a way to do that? For example each item costs $8.00 to ship each additional item costs $1.00.
Thanks,
Scott

Hi,

It depends how you configured your shipping methods.
If you set the shipping price for each product (because the have the "price per product" option of your manual shipping methods activated), when you add the shipping price for each product, you can add several prices based on the quantity of the product in the cart.
Another possibility in the manual shipping methods listing is to create several manual shipping methods, one for each range of number of products in the cart (if all the products have the same weight, you can use the weight restriction of your manual shipping methods for the range) and set its price accordingly.

How would i add several prices based on the quantity? Also in regards to price per product if i set the price per product to 22 (since all my products have one of two prices) it will add x shipping rate to all products that are 22? just want to make sure i understand it correctly. Sorry for my ignorance first time setting up an e-commerce site. Thanks for the help!

You can restrict each shipping methods on the product weight (if the weight is the same as Nicolas said) or use the product volume to determine the quantity of products added in cart.

If you set a weight of, for example, 100g for each products so create a shipping methods from 0g to 300g for 0 to 3 products, another one from 301g to 600g for 4 to 6 products with a lower price per product, etc.

Hope this will help you.

Yes the volume is for m, yrds, cm ... but if you don't use the volume for your products, you can set it and use it for the shipping methods.
It's the easiest way to achieve you request.

But if you were using volumes on your products, so you will need another solution, probably requesting some PHP development.
